Ingredients

  • 2 Cups Dark Brown Sugar
  • 2 Cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 2 Tsp Baking Powder
  • ¼ Tsp Salt
  • ¾ Cub Butter
  • 1 Tsp Baking Soda
  • 1 Cup Whole Milk
  • 1 Large Egg
  • 2 Tsp Nutmeg Powder
  • 1 Cup Icing Sugar For dusting

Instructions

  • Beat brown sugar flour, baking powder, and salt.,
  • Add butter and beat again until it looks like breadcrumbs
  • Spread half of the crumbs mixture over the pan
  • In a separate bowl, whisk the egg, baking soda and the nutmeg powder
  • Beat the milk mixture and the crumb mixture until well combined
  • Pour this mixture into the cake tray and pat a little
  • Put the cake tray into a pre-heated oven
  • Bake for about 50 to 60 minutes or until the toothpick comes out clean
  • Transfer the cake to a tray and cook for about 10 minutes
  • Once cooled, sift the icing sugar over the top of the cake.
